Daily Forecast

From Meteorologist Ethan Emery:

A windy Saturday forecast:

Scattered strong to severe storms have moved through the Black Hills this evening and delivered strong winds, large hail and heavy rainfall as forecast. These storms will be scattered until 1 a.m. then become more isolated for overnight tonight into early Saturday. Areas most likely to see the isolated showers and storms will be in northeast Wyoming, southeast Montana and northwest South Dakota.

Saturday will be partly to mostly cloudy and also cooler than average as highs only reach the 50s and 60s. On top of the cool conditions, it will also be windy as winds will be out of the northwest between 20-30 mph during the afternoon with gusts up to 45 mph! Lastly there will also be isolated showers that move into northeast Wyoming, southeast Montana, northwest South Dakota and into the Black Hills including in Rapid City. These will be very spotty in nature so not everyone will see the activity, but you'll need the umbrella nearby and HOLD IT TIGHT!

Extended forecast:

Sunday will warm up to average conditions as highs reach the 60s and 70s with mostly sunny skies and calmer winds. We warm up Monday to the 70s and 80s with continuous sunshine, though some clouds will develop to the west during the day. Monday is also the first day of autumn -- and it will certainly still feel like summer! Temperatures will begin to fall during the week and by Friday we will be in the 50s and 60s so the effects of autumn are still in the forecast! We are also tracking the potential for isolated showers and storms Tuesday night into early Wednesday, Thursday night into Friday morning, and Friday afternoon. If anything changes, we will alert you first on the air, online or on our mobile weather app!
