Pumpkin Bread


3 1/3 c flour
3 c sugar
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
2 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp salt
4 eggs, lightly beaten
1 c oil
1/3 c sherry
1/3 c water
1 (16oz) can pumpkin
3/4 c chopped walnuts


Combine the first 6 ingredients and mix well. Add the next four ingredients and stir thoroughly to combine. Fold in pumpkin and walnuts.

Pour batter into 2 9x5 loaf pans and bake in an preheated 325 degree oven for 1 hour or until done.

*Watch this carefully - just slightly overdone means a burnt crust.*
