Wildfire burning in Custer State Park

Fire crews are on the scene of a wildfire burning inside the boundaries of Custer State Park.

Fire officials are estimating the size of the fire at 150 acres as of early Wednesday evening..

The fire apparently started near the park shop near Highway 16 and was headed toward the northwest.

Federal, state and local crews are on the scene.

Officials say that includes a Tatanka Hot Shots crew, a Type-1 and Type 3 helicopter, multiple single engine tankers with a heavy tanker on the way, along with engines and bulldozers on the fire.

We are told there are no structures threatened at this time.

At this time, the cause of the Mine Draw fire is unknown. It was initially reported about 11:19 a.m.
