Veterans Day ceremony at Main Street Square

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA TV) - A special Veterans Day program has been planned for Sunday, Nov. 11, from 10 to 11 a.m. Celebrate and honor America’s veterans at Main Street Square’s Veterans Day ceremony.

“Our team is honored to host a special program for our military men and women,” said Elizabeth Smith, events director of Main Street Square. “We invite the whole community to join in the ceremony and stay for the VFW Parade directly after.”

The event is free and open to the public. Free coffee, hot chocolate and hand-held American flags will be provided, while supplies last. Enjoy demonstrations from the Boys Scouts Troop 88 Color Guard and guest speakers.

Immediately following the event the annual Veterans Day Parade, organized by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1273, will start at 11 a.m. The parade starts at Third and Main streets, flows west on Main St., south on Seventh St. and east on St. Joseph St. and ends at the corner of Third and St. Joseph streets.
