Time to service your lawn equipment
Regular maintenance is an essential part of keeping your snow blower and lawn mower ready for the seasons for years to come. Experts recommend using transitional seasons like spring to have your lawn tools checked out and given a tune-up to make sure they are prepped for storage, or ready to go when you need them most.
Common tasks recommended include changing the oil, spark plugs, air filter and putting gas stabilizer into items being stored for winter.
Bill Koser, the owner of Brown's Small Engine Repair, says he has units come in that haven’t had any maintenance, particularly oil and air filter, which shortens the life of the equipment.
Koser adds that timing is also very important because discovering a problem too late can set you back timewise and financially, as repair shops can get booked up for weeks in the transition seasons.
