With the Sturgis Rally officially over, the city and surrounding campgrounds are wasting no time to clean up.
The city started collecting trash on Saturday night. Most of downtown is already clean and things are back to normal.
"So we try to get as much done Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday to get the town back to normal so the town is clean and open for business," said Jerry Cole, the Rally and Events Director.
For local campgrounds like the Buffalo Chip and Kickstands, trash cleanup didn't take long either. And they say it's because of their quick crews and their clientele that helped pick up after themselves.
"Our clientele picked up after themselves, we had a lot of live concerts and they picked up even their cans and trash and made it real easy for the cleanup crew here at Kickstands," said Kimberly Roberts, Managing Member of Kickstands Campground and Venue.
Sturgis is currently waiting on numbers for how much trash they collected, but they say it is up from last year.
