RAPID CITY S.D. (KOTA TV) - The South Dakota High School Activities Association or SDHSAA brings 36 schools from across the state with over 300 students competing in 12 art categories.
The students are all in high school and have been working on their projects for months. Winners will be announced during halftime of the AA Championship Basketball game.
For event organizers, this is a great way to continue students' passion for the fine arts.
"It's really good exposure for these kids whose art work really wouldn't get seen outside of their school or maybe their community. It's nice to bring it in front of a statewide audience and especially such a big one that we get for basketball," says Brooks Bowman the assistant news director for the SDHSSA.
Results from the competition will be posted on the Activities Association's website on Monday.
