South Dakota snowmobilers found; rescue under way

ALBANY, Wyo. (KEVN/KOTA TV) - Four South Dakota snowmobilers missing in the Snowy Range Mountains of Wyoming have been found and are expected to be rescued Wednesday.

The four were spotted by a helicopter late Christmas Day, and survival gear was dropped to them. The gear included food, water, fire supplies and other emergency supplies.

According to a post on the Snowy Range Snowmobile Club Facebook page, the four had a fire burning.

The search and rescue team could not get to them by ground because of safety reasons. The SAR teams regrouped Wednesday morning to attempt to reach the snowmobilers.

The snowmobilers from Tea, S.D. (Zach, Cole and Miah Christensen and Jim Bruining) were reported missing Sunday when they failed to check out of their lodge in Albany.
