TUESDAY UPDATE: 10 more COVID-19 cases in Pennington County and 1 more death

The virus has claimed another life in Pennington County. That brings the total deaths in the county to 9. Pennington County reports the 3rd most cases in the state with 402, up 10 from Monday. There have been 234 recoveries. Oglala Lakota County reports 48 cases, Meade County 39 and Lawrence County 12. Fall River County reports 6 cases and there are 6 in Jackson County. Custer County has 2 cases. Bennett County reports its first case of COVID-19 since the pandemic began.

The second death was reported in Minnehaha County.

The number of active cases in South Dakota has dropped to 820, which is down 72 from Monday. Total cases are now at 5,966 in South Dakota, which represents 38 new cases since yesterday. 77 South Dakotans have lost their lives to the virus.

There are 92 persons currently hospitalized due to the virus, down 1 from Monday.
