Sommelier Kara Sweet and Denise DePaolo authored a new book about the South Dakota wine industry. The book chronicles the development of the commercial wine industry after a groundbreaking 1996 law, and share stories of families and their long tradition in making wine in the state. The authors also explain how hybrids of some grapes grow well in what many consider a state with too much hostile weather to ever support grape growing.
