School bus accident leads to DUI arrest, 1 student taken to hospital
The Lead Police Department says a passenger car ran into the back of a Lead-Deadwood school bus Tuesday afternoon on Highway 385 near the intersection with Kirk Road. Police say the bus began to slow to make a regular stop when it was hit. Police say one student was taken to Lead-Deadwood Regional Hospital with minor injuries and several other students complained of minor aches and pains and were checked by medical personnel on scene and released. Police say the driver of the car, a 29-year old woman from South Dakota, was arrested for DUI and other traffic offenses. Her name was not listed in a release from the Lead Police Department.
