Robber flees without the cash

A man failed in his attempt to rob the Corner Pantry convenience store on East North Street Tuesday when the clerk sounded the alarm instead of handing over the cash.

The clerk told police that the man came into the store wearing a black ski mask and carrying a duffel bag.

The robber put the bag on the counter and demanded money. This is when the clerk hit the store’s panic alarm, causing the robber to grab his bag and run away.
