RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA TV) - Rapid City police got an eyeful Thursday night when they made a traffic stop on East Anamosa Street and discovered a naked man in the back seat.
The man, reportedly 48-year-old Robert Verner of Box Elder, was told to put on his clothes. After putting on his pants, the suspect attempted to jump into the front seat and drive off.
Police were able to grab him. However, once out of the van he ran off. When police caught up with him, he was tasered and handcuffed.
This is when police noticed that the pants he was wearing had the word “inmate” on them. He reportedly left the Rapid City Community Work Center without authorization.
Police arrested Verner for obstruction and leaving a correctional facility without authorization.
The driver was cited for speeding.
