Great news for the City of Rapid City, it has been selected as the finish line city for the 2017 Fireball Run: Big Country.
The Fireball Run, a travel and adventure series on Amazon, is an 8 day event that spans 2,000 miles. On Sept. 22nd, 2017, participants will start their journey in Eau Claire, Wis., travel eastward stopping at various destination cities in pursuit of clues to answer trivia questions and uncover historic artifacts unique to the route. Rapid City will be the show's last stop.
"It's a huge honor to be the destination city for this event, I mean it’s something and if you look at all the cities they're all great cities but they're nothing like Rapid City,” said Rapid City Mayor Steven Allender. “We really have it here and I think that's why we were chosen for the destination, you couldn't ask for more. So it's a big opportunity for us and a big opportunity for the rest of the country and the world to see some of the great things in South Dakota."
During this journey, participants will spread information about missing or neglected children. According the show's executive producer, in a previous season, 49 missing children were recovered in two days.
