Rapid City athlete trainer receives distinguished service award
A Rapid City man is being acknowledged for his athletic training achievements.
Paul Richter, a Black Hill Orthopedic and Spine Center athletic trainer, received the distinguished service award from the South Dakota High School Coaches Association earlier this month.
The award is given for his outstanding contributions for training local high school athletes.
Richter, who has been training athletes since 1998, has no favorite sport but loves to work with them all.
Richter says, "It's a fun job that I really enjoyed for this long period of time. I get to work with a lot of great coaches, athletes, watch sports...and its fun being a part of the winning tradition that we've had around here, in all different variety of sports period."
In the past 18 years technology has improved the way Richter does business.
MRI's now have 3D imaging which make diagnosing injuries easier.
