GREGORY, S.D. (KOTA TV) - Meet Breeze! She's a one-and-a-half-year-old Chocolate Labrador Retriever crossed with a Shepherd from Rescues Unlimited.
She has been spayed, current on her shots, has been de-wormed and up-to-date on her NexGard.
Breeze was abandoned along the highway and was going to have puppies when she was rescued. She had nine puppies and was a very good mom. She taught them well and played with them as if she was a puppy herself, which she was. She had them at a very young age.
She missed her puppies when they were adopted. Breeze would gather up all of their toys and lay down with them all around her.
Rescues Unlimited staff said they promised her that she would be spayed before she was adopted, so that her heart would never be broken again.
Breeze is still like a puppy. She gets very excited and throws her toys up in the air.
She loves people and all children, although she loves getting attention and is learning not to jump up to greet people, so older kids might work best for her. Breeze gets along well with most other dogs, especially puppies and does okay with cats.
Breeze is a very smart dog, very loyal, and will stay by your side when off the leash. She also has a very good nose, so might be a good dog for hunting.
She's lived inside and knows when to let her owners out when she has to go outside. However, she knows what it's like to be on her own, so she will snoop around in the garbage or on the counter to see if there's anything to eat. Breeze is working on this.
Rescues Unlimited staff would like to see her on a farm or with a very active family who has lots of time to spend with her.
If you would like to meet this sweet girl, you can call Dale at Rescues Unlimited at 605-835-8780 to go over the adoption application. There's also a link to their Facebook page to the right of the article.
