RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - "Sit! Stay! and Sip!" Folks in Rapid City were doing all three at the Ramkota Hotel Saturday evening for furry friends pawing on Pine Ridge Reservation.

Holding its big fundraiser of the year is the Oglala Pet Project, or OPP, a volunteer-based non-profit organization located on the Pine Ridge Reservation.

OPP serves the community by providing dog and cat rescue, spay and neuter, as well as essential vaccinations.

With a wine tasting and a large silent auction and a load of entertainment, Sit, Stay and Sip brings in between $15,000 and $20,000 that all go back to the project. It is an impact the owner said she is proud to see through for the animals on Pine Ridge.

"They are like family to us and we try our best every day to better our animals in our communities down on the Pine Ride Reservation. There is no vet and so we try to help provide simple services for people that can't afford it and for people that need it for their animals to keep them happy and healthy," said Andrea Goodman, founder of OPP.

Nearly 175 people were sipping and spending for the cause Saturday.
