Noem and Pence rally voters day before election

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA TV) - The final day of campaigning brings several big-name Republicans to Rapid City in an attempt to propel their candidate into the South Dakota governor’s office.

Kristi Noem’s Get Out the Vote rally with Vice President Mike Pence is at West Jet Air Center Hangar 4 (Regional Airport).

1 p.m. - Venue opens to public
2:30p.m. - Program begins
3:15 p.m. - Vice President Mike Pence makes remarks

The rally also feature Sens. Lindsey Graham and Cory Gardner. Sen. John Thune was to hold events for Noem in eastern South Dakota.

Noem is locked in a tight contest with Democrat Billie Sutton. A recent poll gave Noem the edge but only within the margin of error.

Polls are open Tuesday, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

If you are not sure of where your polling station is, you can go to the Secretary of State’s Voter Information Portal.

In the portal, you will see your county and legislative district, polling station’s address; as well as a sample ballot you can study.

When you go to the polls Tuesday, you will need valid photo identification.

Approved IDs are:

• South Dakota driver's license or nondriver ID card
• U.S. government photo ID (passport is acceptable)
• U.S. Armed Forces ID
• Current student photo identification card from a South Dakota high school or South Dakota accredited institution of higher education
• Tribal photo ID

If you don’t have a photo ID, you can sign a personal identification affidavit, allowing you to vote a regular ballot.
