RAPID CITY S.D. (KOTA TV) - With classes from long range guns to handgun basics. The amount of people coming to the seminars and workshops has exceeded staff at Rapid City Cabela's expectations. The events brought in many locals, but also some visitors.

"Here at Cabela's we're all about gun safety. Teaching you the right technique of your shooting. Also, keeping you safe while you're out on the range or in your home," says Tara Little the events coordinator at Cabela's.

Staff also use this time to teach gun safety to people at a young age- and for two local kids, they're excited to have shooting practice.

"I like to shoot bee-bee guns and I like to come here to shoot them," says Connor McCroden, age 8, an avid bee-bee gun shooter.

Cabela's will host another round of gun safety seminars in August during their fall hunting classic.
