Holiday help at the Club for Boys

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA TV) - As Christmas quickly approaches, the Club for Boys in Rapid City is preparing to shower their attendees in gifts.

While the presents have already been bought and wrapped, volunteers are still needed to man the party. Carri Redmond, the program director for the Club for Boys, said help is needed running contests, keeping score and handing out presents.

The Club for Boys can be reached at (605) 343-3500.

One place volunteers are not needed is the Christmas tree lot. That is manned by boys from the club.

Each boy received the job only after an interview process. There are about twenty who are scheduled on a daily basis to sell the trees.

Redmond says the boys are learning job skills such as good customer service, how to come to work on time and how to call in sick.
