Formal charges brought against Rapid City priest

Father Marcin Garbacz is charged with first degree embezzlement of property received in trust and first degree petty theft.
According to charging documents from the Pennington County States Attorney show the value is between $400 - $1,000. The priest is accused of stealing from the Saint Therese Catholic Church in Rapid City.
Police say Father Garbacz admitted to being responsible for the theft. The Dioceses announced the news to all parishes in June after an investigation by the Rapid City Police Department.
