A devastating downtown Hot Springs fire destroyed four businesses Monday night and early Tuesday morning.

The fire started at the Vault restaurant and bar, quickly moving into the surrounding businesses – China Buffet, Heartsong Quilts and Gus' Best Ice Cream.

No injuries have been reported.

More than 50 first responders from around the black hills moved fought the fire in the historic district of Hot Springs. According to Fall River Emergency Management, an entire block is affected.

Crews will be monitoring the scene throughout Tuesday, looking for hot spots and flare-ups.

The cause of the fire has not been determined. The state fire marshal will investigate.

New Information as of 12:20 am:

The Vault Restaurant/Bar and China Buffet in downtown Hot Springs are both destroyed by fire. Flames have now moved on to the Quilt Shop That's according to Frank Maynard of Fall River Emergency Management.

He says that specific whole downtown block is now engulfed in fire.

Maynard says nobody has been injured. There are resources from multiple agencies now helping.

The fire began at the Vault Restaurant/Bar and spread from there. He says his first page on the fire was at 8:32 pm Monday night.

The Fire Marshal's office has been called to investigate the massive fire.

Jerome Harvey with Pennington County Fire is now in Hot Springs as well.

Original Story

The Vault Restaurant/Bar in downtown Hot Springs is fully engulfed in flames right now. That's according to Frank Maynard of Fall River Emergency Management.

He says crews are currently working to prevent the flames from reaching a couple other structures including the China Buffet Restaurant which is next door and the Yarn Shop. At this point the fire is restrained to the Vault.

Maynard says the Hot Springs Fire Department, and the Black Hills VA Hot Springs Fire Department's are both on the scene fighting the flames right now.
