Colorado man wanted for sex crime arrested in Rapid City

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN/KOTA TV) - A Colorado man wanted for sexual exploitation of a minor was arrested in Rapid City Sunday.

Christopher Golden, 48, was charged with sexual exploitation of a minor in 2014. Golden had been on the run from Colorado Springs for four years, living in Texas and California before settling in South Dakota.

Golden was able to avoid being caught until now by using forged documents to get a job.

In a Pennington County Sheriff’s Office release, Sergeant Todd Battest said: “It’s quite a catch. We work hard to keep dangerous people off our streets. We can only hope this arrest brings some security and closure to the victims.”

Battest and five members of the Black Hills fugitive task force made the arrest Sunday afternoon where Golden worked.
