Brand new beer festival coming to Rapid City

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA TV) The inaugural Mountain West Beer Fest kicks off Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017, at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center.
50 breweries, both local and out-of-state, will be serving a variety of 200 different beer samples.

The event, which lasts from 1-5 p.m., features a string of activities for event goers to enjoy, such as human-sized foosball and beer yoga. There is a sports bar area featuring all of the college football games and 10 retro arcade games to play from Press Start. Food vendors will be on hand to quell your appetite as well as a DJ spinning some classic tunes.

"We just kind of take things that we like and we're interested in...we found great partners with the Civic Center, they were interested in doing this too and we found some great partners with some local breweries," said Kelsey Kinney of The HomeSlice Group. "We just though this would be really cool."

The event will cap off with a performance by local rock band Judd Hoos. For ticket availability visit
