Book drive raises $8K for Readiatrics

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN/KOTA TV) - Readiatrics has an extra $8,000 following a recent book drive sponsored by Books A Million in Rapid City.

The funds will be distributed to several area children’s programs.

Darla Drew, Ward 5 council member, has organized the annual drive for used books since 2001, distributing more than 160,000 books through Readiatrics, according to a city release.

"I am overjoyed at the community's response and the donations will impact the lives of countless children," said Drew.
