DEADWOOD, S.D. (KOTA TV) - The HBO Deadwood movie is scheduled to air in the spring of this year and the Deadwood Chamber of Commerce is doing what it can to prepare.
When the series aired in the early 2000s, the cast and crew visited Deadwood for a meet-and-greet. This time around the chamber hopes to plan another event. They want to bring in more cast members and hold different events with them, but they need to get in contact with HBO first.
Ultimately everyone is excited to see where this story will go and what it can do for the area.
"We're all curious. We can't wait and I'm sure that it will continue to remind people that the beautiful Black Hills is where they, you know, perfect place to vacation and while they are here they can go to Deadwood and try to see some of those locations and spots that might remind them of what the Deadwood movie told them and taught them," says Louie Lalonde, co-owner of Saloon No. 10 in Deadwood.
If you need to catch up on the series before the movie comes out Lalond says they're showing episodes every Tuesday in the basement of Saloon No. 10.
