SUNDAY UPDATE: State reports 33 new cases of COVID-19
No new deaths were reported Sunday, but the number of cases continues to climb in South Dakota, including Pennington County.
Pennington County now has 227 positive cases reported, up 9 from Saturday, with 59 recovered.Lawrence County, which for weeks had just nine confirmed COVID-19 cases, saw two more show up the past couple of days - they now have 11. Meade County has yet another infection, they are now at 19. Oglala Lakota County now confirms 26 positive cases, with 7 recovered.
The state also recorded 33 new COVID-19 cases, bringing total known cases to 4,993. Active cases rose by 1 to 1,094.
Current hospitalizations dropped by 7 to 86. Roughly 4% of of the state's hospital beds are currently occupied by COVID-19 patients, according to the Department of Health's website.
An additional 32 people recovered from the disease, bringing total recoveries to 3,837.
In Wyoming, 898 cases have been reported (this is both lab tested and presumptive) with 16 deaths. The latest death was a woman from Fremont County. 658 have recovered in the Cowboy State.
