25 Days of Giving: WAVI

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA TV) - As part of our 25 Days of giving, tonight we highlight Working Against Violence Incorporated, or WAVI.

WAVI provides support for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. As part of that support means that they go through a lot of supplies like personal grooming items and non-perishable food items. Things like deodorant, tooth soap, and disposable razors are greatly needed as well as diapers and baby wipes

"So think of everything you use on a daily basis like shampoo, conditioner, sanitary products, laundry soap," said Kristina Simmons, development director for WAVI. "Those are the things that we use times about 35 people, recently it's been closer to 50 people. So we run low on those things quite fast, so those are always needed."

WAVI accepts donations at their back entrance Tuesday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Food can be dropped off anytime.
