Two motorcyclists were killed and two others injured when their bikes crashed into a semi-truck Thursday afternoon In Box Elder.

The names of the crash victims are being withheld pending notification of their families.

The crash happened about 2:30 p.m. on Highway 14-16 at the intersection with South Ellsworth Road. The motorcyclists were riding two bikes westbound on the highway when they hit a semi pulling three trailers that was turning onto the highway. The motorcyclists reportedly did not yield at a stop sign.

The man and woman on one bike were killed. The other motorcyclists had minor injuries, according to the South Dakota Highway Patrol.

No further details on the crash were released.
