After nearly four decades as a print and broadcast journalist (20 years with military newspapers, followed by 19 years at KOTA-TV News) Jack decided to retire from the news business in 2012. Retirement didn’t last long.

In seven months Jack was back at KOTA-TV as the editor of the community news website MyTown. With the sale of KOTA-TV to Schurz Communications, Jack and MyTown moved to DBE Radio where he worked on a redesign of the site before jumping ship back to KOTA-TV to become its first digital content manager in June 2014.

His journalism honors include two awards from the Associated Press for investigative reporting and a documentary series; as well as 13 military awards for editorial, news and sports writing, photojournalism and newspaper management.

Jack served on the Central Command public affairs staff during the Gulf War, earning the Bronze Star. He retired from the Air Force as a master sergeant in 1993.
