Alicia Garcia has been part of the KOTA Territory News team for nearly two decades.
She anchors KOTA Territory News at 10 p.m. She also produces Consumer Reports which air at 5:30 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Alicia grew up in Los Angeles and graduated from California State University, Northridge. Three years later she graduated from Stanford University School of Law and passed the California State Bar to practice law.
Alicia then went to work with CBS Television in Los Angeles. She loved her work there, but after seeing life at a major TV network, and living in Southern California most of her life, she decided that she wanted to make a life and raise a family somewhere besides urban Los Angeles.
She spent several months living in London, and upon her return to the United States, then spent three months on a coast to coast road trip, driving from state to state, in search of the ideal place to live. She found the beautiful Black Hills.
So Alicia packed up, moved to South Dakota and began work as a practicing lawyer in Rapid City, with a special interest in problems affecting consumers.
Soon after, Alicia joined the KOTA Territory News team and now reports, produces and anchors stories that affect our community. She is particularly proud to have been selected to fly with the United States Air Force Thunderbirds in the summer of 2015!
Alicia splits her time between working as a part of the KOTA News Team and representing clients in her law practice. As if that isn’t enough, she is also the proud mother of two sons, Jack and Adam; and two daughters, Elena and Diana.
