The dynamics of the local TV news industry are constantly changing but there is one consistent element in KOTA Territory and that is Jack Caudill.
Jack began his career with KEVN in 1983; working as the weekend sports anchor, sports director, news anchor and ultimately news director of KEVN Black Hills Fox.
When Gray Television bought KOTA TV in 2015, Jack became the assistant news director for the combined stations of KEVN and KOTA.
Jack moved over to KOTA Territory’s main anchor desk in September 2018; while still retaining responsibility as the assistant news director.
He received the Tom Brokaw Award in 2007 for excellence in electronic journalism and is now on the board of directors of the South Dakota Broadcasters Association.
Born and raised in Cincinnati, Jack graduated from Ohio University with a degree in radio-television then moved west to South Dakota.
When not working, he spends most of his time with his wife, daughter, son and three grandchildren and loves to hit the trails of the Black Hills on his mountain bike.
