RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) - A Mount Rushmore Fireworks Livestream Watch Party is set to be part of Rapid City’s Real America Birthday Bash, giving residents and visitors another way to experience the fireworks celebration.

Organizers said the event was among the first finalized for the July 1-5 festivities. It comes as demand for Mount Rushmore fireworks tickets far exceeded availability, with nearly 103,000 requests submitted for just 4,800 spots.

The watch party will begin July 3 at 7:30 p.m. at Main Street Square with a performance by Brandon Jones. A livestream of the Mount Rushmore fireworks is scheduled to start at 9:30 p.m.

The event will cap off a full day of activities at Main Street Square, including speakers, historical reenactors and performances by local artists and groups.

The watch party is one of several events planned for the America 250 celebration, which also includes a patriotic drone show, community parade, performances by the Air Force Academy Band, a downtown festival, a concert by country artist Chancey Williams, a Kids’ Zone, a 5K Freedom Run and fireworks following a Rapid City Municipal Band performance.
