Victim identified in Candlewood apartment shooting

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) - The victim from the shooting on March 8 on the 4500 block of Candlewood Place, has been identified.

Information done during the RCPD investigation indicates that Luke Birch, 21, the suspect currently in custody at the Pennington County Jail, knew the victim. They have been identified as McGarland Walker, 24, of Rapid City.

The ongoing investigation is being conducted jointly between the RCPD and the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office.
