“We are trying a new progressive workshop series for Lindy Hop,” said Debbie Ellerton, the director of the Black Hills Dance Festival. “Our instructors, Jacob & Bridget, from Minnesota, will be in Rapid City to teach 3 hours of Lindy Hop to help new students elevate their swing abilities. We want to encourage all ages but especially students.”

“We have World Champions from Louisville Kentucky (Brian B. and Ms. Megan) from the West Coast Swing Online YouTube channel here to teach Intermediate West Coast Swing, Rumba, Country 2-step, East Coast Swing, Polka and Night Club Two-Step. They will be available to do some private lessons during their time in Rapid City,” said Niki Hughes, promotions for the festival. “Tim Perez is a line dance and couples instructor from Arizona. He has competed in the highest level divisions and won multiple awards. He will be teaching line dancing workshops, country 2-step, night club 2-step, Waltz, & West Coast Swing.”

“We also have open dancing in the evenings with music from our favorite DJ – Machelle Holloway from Casper, WY,” continued Ellerton. “She is our dancing DJ and will be teaching numerous line dance workshops throughout the weekend.”
