RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) - When you donate blood at Vitalant this month there will be a United Way donation box to drop off any toiletries or gently used infant clothing that will go to local women’s shelters.

Donor and recruitment representative at Vitalant, Molly Barari (BAR-ARE-E) says there is often a shortage in blood donations during the summer months, and this year is no exception. ”Blood drives are being canceled across our Vitalant enterprise due to the Pandemic, so that will affect our blood donations this summer, and in general summer is just a tough time for blood donations because people are busy with other activities, they have a lot going on.”

You can also drop off items for local women’s shelters at United Way’s Black Hills location.
