Pennyswise tips and tricks from window cleaner to ant removal
RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) - It’s time to learn some money-saving tips from the woman behind the pennywise newspaper, Paula Vogelgesang.
2 cups water, 1 cup white vinegar, ½ cup household ammonia (non-sudsy kind) & 2 – 3 drops of dish soap
The lady from Wyoming that sent this in says that she mixes it in a quart jar and then puts it in an old ice cream bucket to use it. She says it doesn’t streak like some of the commercial cleaners do. And, it’s a whole lot cheaper than buying from a store.
Instead of spending money on jewelry cleaners just go to the bathroom and get out an old toothbrush and some toothpaste. Work the paste into all the nooks and crannies in the jewelry, rinse well in lukewarm water and dry well. Mine come out like new and I haven’t spent any extra money on a one-use cleaner.
Instead of buying those scrubbers in the store, save the mesh onion bags, put a couple of big rubber bands around them, and VOILA, .a scrubber that you didn’t pay extra for!!
Ants, be gone!:
I’ve been having trouble with little ants, my grandma called them ‘grease ants’ because they invade the kitchen. My next- door- neighbor told me to go to the store and get a big box of CINNAMON, then sprinkle it all around the foundation of my house. I did it and now I have to hunt for an ant!!
