Spearfish Canyon Fall Colors 2014

The weekend of Sept. 20-21 saw the fall colors in Spearfish Canyon at about 75 percent; with a lot of autumn gold, some reds and yellows. Last year, the Oct. 4 blizzard ruined the colors before they peaked. While this year will be different, you can still see damage from that storm.

Weather Forecast

Summertime temperature continue this week, even lingering into the weekend with new developments in the jet stream.

There is a major storm system just off the Pacific Northwest Coast. That storm is still moving slowly our way. but the latest computer models are indicating it may take a more northerly track, which would take most of the moisture into Montana and North Dakota. We'll keep tracking this storm as it develops.

Once that storm moves through, temperatures will cool down next week. Until then enjoy some of the warmest temperatures you're likely to feel until next June!
