Spearfish Canyon Fall Colors 2014

The weekend of Sept. 20-21 saw the fall colors in Spearfish Canyon at about 75 percent; with a lot of autumn gold, some reds and yellows. Last year, the Oct. 4 blizzard ruined the colors before they peaked. While this year will be different, you can still see damage from that storm.

Thanks to our KOTA Territory News Facebook fans for posting their fall colors photos. Here's a slideshow of their work.

Sept. 11 is definitely too early for snow, sticking or not ... it is too early. Having said that, thanks to all the KOTA Territory News Facebook fans for posting their scenes this morning. We didn't get all of them in this gallery so check out more on our Facebook page.

Eric Gardner, Good Morning KOTA Territory/Noon News Meteorologist

Eric Gardner joined the KOTA news team in December of 2002 as a morning and noon meteorologist and news anchor. After a stint as the nightside main anchor, Eric returns to sunrise as the Good Morning KOTA Territory meteorologist.

Did you feel that strong warm front push though after sunset in Rapid City? If not, you will be enjoying it tomorrow! We are in the upper 50s, and I'm sure you will be loving it. Just leave the winter coats at home tomorrow! All you need is a light jacket. Have fun shopping on Black Friday.

Don't forget Small Business Saturday, as temps will still be in the 50s as highs. Then Old Man Winter shoves his head back into our live Saturday afternoon as temps will be falling though the rest of the day as an arctic cold front spills though KOTA Territory making for a cold Sunday as well as the start to the work week! Could see a few flurries overnight Sunday into Monday morning.

Temps try to moderate though out the work, but another shot at some cool air comes in Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.
