Eric Gardner, Good Morning KOTA Territory/Noon News Meteorologist

Eric Gardner joined the KOTA news team in December of 2002 as a morning and noon meteorologist and news anchor. After a stint as the nightside main anchor, Eric returns to sunrise as the Good Morning KOTA Territory meteorologist.

A strong storm system will race southeast across KOTA Territory today and tonight. Strong winds and areas of blowing snow are likely, especially this afternoon and evening. More than 6 inches of snow will fall in the northern hills due to upslope winds, with 1 to 3 inches on the plains. In Rapid City, only trace amounts can be expected.

After a break Tuesday and Christmas Eve, another fast-moving trough may bring some light snow showers Christmas Day.

The rest of the year after Christmas will feature below normal temperatures, with the possibility of frigid arctic air around New Year's Day.

Rapid City expect less than 2" of snow.

Warmer Christmas Eve, then another shot at some snow for Christmas day.
