Spearfish Canyon Fall Colors 2014

The weekend of Sept. 20-21 saw the fall colors in Spearfish Canyon at about 75 percent; with a lot of autumn gold, some reds and yellows. Last year, the Oct. 4 blizzard ruined the colors before they peaked. While this year will be different, you can still see damage from that storm.

Skies will be cloudy through Wednesday, but no significant moisture for the entire week. Slippery roads will mainly be well to the north and in the high mountain areas of Colorado and Wyoming. However, an isolated snow shower is still possible overnight.

A little warm up starts Thanksgiving Day, and even warmer Friday and Saturday. but a cold front will move in late Saturday to cool off Sunday.
