Daily Forecast

From Meteorologist Eric Gardner:

Chance for more Moisture

There's an old saying in the world of weather forecasting: don't call for rain in a drought! While yesterday it appeared as though copious amounts of rain could fall in KOTA Territory, the latest guidance has significantly reduced the total rainfall expected from today's system. The main upper level low is developing pretty far to the south, and the energy rotating northward from the storm is likely to mostly remain in SE Wyoming and Nebraska. Nonetheless, some light rain will fall today into this evening, with a quarter to a third of an inch possible, up to a half inch in southwest South Dakota.

With more moisture in the air and an easterly wind, some areas of dense fog could form tonight and last into Wednesday morning.

After two dry, mild days Wednesday and Thursday, our next chance of showers arrives Friday, but again, the main storm will be well to the south.
