5th Annual BHHBA Poker Pub Crawl Fundraiser

Event Dates and Times

1/28/2017
Downtown Rapid City
The 5th Annual Black Hills Home Builders Associate Poker Pub Crawl Fundraiser will take place on Saturday, January 28, 2017 from 2:00pm - 6:00pm. The annual event raises funds to support members of the Rapid City community. Funds raised at this year’s event will support Jordyn Bruski and Mark Schuh.

Jordyn is 11 years old and suffers from Autoimmune Syndrome. During testing she was diagnosed with Pediatric AML Leukemia. Jordyn is currently at the Denver Children’s Hospital receiving continuous chemotherapy treatments and will be continuing care in Denver for several months.

Mark is a well-liked member of the Rapid City community and the owner of Rapid Pro Painting. In the summer of 2016 he suffered a severe spinal cord injury while on a job site. Mark recently returned to Rapid City from Craig, CO where he was being treated. Mark’s injury has left him paralyzed from the shoulders down.

Registration for the Poker Pub Crawl is $20 per person and will begin at Paddy O’Neills in the Hotel Alex Johnson at 2:00pm. Registrants will earn a card at each of five different locations, to be revealed at registration. Mulligans will also be available for purchase. At the end of the event cash prizes, totaling half of the funds raised, will be awarded to the top two finishers and the second to last finisher. A live auction will also be available at the final location, which is the VFW. All proceeds from the live Auction will be split between the two recipients. Donations for the auction can be dropped off at the Black Hills Home Builders office (3121 West Chicago Street).

High Country Guest Ranch, Hill City
Open Stage, Hill City’s popular winter tradition that connects performing artists with enthusiastic audiences, will begin a new era when it opens its 2017 season at 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, in the Dakota Hall of High Country Guest Ranch. Admission is free, but donations support an annual scholarship program and other Hill City Arts Council educational initiatives.
The Open Stage series will continue with events at High Country, off Deerfield Road west of Hill City, on Jan. 28, Feb. 11 and 25, and March 11 and 25. The doors will open at 5 p.m., and musician sign-up will start at 5:15. The number of performers will be limited, so that the events can conclude by 10 p.m. For parking, follow the signs.
The closing of Chute Rooster has displaced Open Stage from its comfortable setting of many years, but most aspects of the 2017 events will be familiar: Dan Dickey will return as the emcee, Crow Ridge Productions will manage the sound, and the stage will be filled, as always, with a mix of established performers and emerging talent.
