1 unsliced loaf French or Italian bread
1/4 cup butter or margarine softened
1 tablespoon prepared mustard
1 tablespoon minced fresh or dried parsley
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1 clove garlic, minced
2 tomatoes sliced
6 ounces shredded mozzarella cheese
6 ounces thinly sliced salami or summer sausage
1/3 cup pickled sweet pepper rings or relish
Cut bread into 1/2 inch slices, leaving slices attached at the bottom. In a small bowl, combine butter, mustard, parsley, red pepper flakes and garlic.
Spread on every other slice. Place tomatoes, mozzarella, salami or summer sausage, and pepper rings or relish between the buttered slices.
Wrap in foil. Bake at 350 degrees or 10-12 minutes or until cheese is melted. Yields 8 servings.
