Suzie Cappa Art Center hosts first OLC student art exhibition

By Barrett Phillips

The Suzie Cappa Art Center invited seven Associate of Arts students from the Oglala Lakota College Fine Arts Program to display their artwork.

These paintings, drawings and pictures promise to attract visitors to the art center as well as help visitors see the Oglala Lakota reservation through the eyes of the artists.

Brad Winter, executive director of the Suzie Cappa Art Center, said he thinks it is a great honor to host these artists."Some of the artists down at the Pine Ridge area don't get the opportunity to show their work elsewhere in other galleries around the Black Hills. So, we were really excited to be able to have these seven artists show their work," Winter said.

Their artwork has been hanging since late April and will stay through July 29.
