2 children die in rural Wyoming home fire

Posted: Updated:

LANDER, Wyo. (AP) - Two children are dead and five of their relatives injured in a house fire in central Wyoming.

Fremont County Fire Chief Craig Haslam says the older, single-family log cabin five miles south of Lander was destroyed in the fire Tuesday evening.

He says the fire apparently started at a barbecue grill on the front porch.

Haslam says when firefighters arrived, they found two adults and three children of the seven-member family outside the home with two others missing. The home was fully engulfed in flames.

The five outside the home were taken to a hospital in Lander. One adult and one child have been flown to a hospital outside the state.

Names of the victims haven't been released.
