Woman died in husband's arms after van crash

Posted: Updated:

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - The husband of a Sioux Falls woman crushed by a van says she died in his arms while pinned against a tree at a car show and picnic.

Carl Stevens says his wife, 43-year-old Angel Stevens, said "I love you" and then passed away.

It happened Sunday evening at a 125th anniversary celebration for the Salvation Army.

A 53-year-old man and a 13-year-old boy were also seriously injured by the van.

Police say the driver, 47-year-old Lois Two Bulls, was arrested on charges of second-degree manslaughter and driving without a license, insurance and seat belt.

She was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Police say initial tests indicate she had not been drinking.
