A bit of a delay in the trial for the 28-year-old Rapid City man accused of beating a man to death at a Quincy Street apartment complex.
Neither the State's Attorney Office nor Daryl Espinosa's defense attorney have received the forensic evidence information to review for the case.
Pennington County Seventh Circuit Court Judge Janine Kern says that due to the nature of the case, it was likely sent to the South Dakota forensic laboratory in Pierre for verification so it might take longer than usual to receive.
Espinosa pleaded not guilty last month to killing 59-year-old Lars Greeley and assaulting two others with a knife when they tried to intervene in the May 15 murder.
The next status hearing is set for Aug. 4.
