Wyoming gets recreation grant money

Posted: Updated:

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - Wyoming will receive about $380,000 in grant money this year from a federal fund for outdoor recreation.

The money from the Land and Water Conservation Fund will be administered by the Wyoming Division of State Parks, Historic Sites and Trails.

The Land and Water Conservation Fund was established by Congress in 1964 to ensure access to outdoor recreation resources for present and future generations.

Since its inception, Wyoming has received some $35 million altogether.

Projects funded with the money include baseball fields, public access to rivers and lakes, interpretation of historic and cultural sites and park trails.
