ROCK SPRINGS, Wyo. (AP) - A nonprofit organization that trains and places single mothers in careers to support their families will discontinue its program in Sweetwater County because of a decrease in public funding.
CLIMB Wyoming has been an accredited program in Rock Springs and Green River since 2007. It has assisted more than 100 single mothers and 250 of their children.
CLIMB Wyoming will continue in other areas of the state, including sites in Casper, Cheyenne, Gillette, Laramie and Teton.
CLIMB spokeswoman Shannon Brooks Hamby tells the Rock Springs Rocket-Miner (http://bit.ly/1mjF8jE) that the decision to cut back in Sweetwater County was based on finances.
Over the past year, CLIMB's public funding has decreased by nearly $1 million.
